PURPOSE

The Jerry Paine scholarship was established with a bequest from highly-respected Gallery Players participant Jerry Paine.  The criteria for this scholarship include past involvement in the arts, and particularly with Gallery Theater, and academic achievement, with preference given to those students who are pursuing an education in the arts.

PROCESS

Interested applicants are invited to submit a resume

that shall include their participation in theater, dance,

music and any other arts.  A letter stating the applicant’s

educational goals and plan should accompany the

resume.  These items should be submitted to Gallery

Players of Oregon, P.O. Box 245, McMinnville, OR  97128.

  The Board of Directors will select the scholarship

recipient based on the criteria of academic achievement

and arts involvement and special consideration will be given to those students who have participated in productions at Gallery.

 

DEADLINE

The deadline for submitting an application is Friday, May 2nd

 

AMOUNT

The amount of the scholarship is at the discretion of the Board of Directors.  In recent years, the amount of the scholarships has been between $500 and $1,000.  Up to two scholarships may be awarded each year.

 

NOTIFICATION

The recipient of the Jerry Paine Scholarship will be notified in early June.  The recipient should then notify Gallery of his/her school of choice.  Gallery will send the scholarship directly to the institution on behalf of the student.
